Hello, my name is Lynnette Beha. When I was four or five years old I wanted Jesus in my heart. I remember around eight o’clock one night that I told my mom that I wanted Jesus in my heart. My mother got my father, and we all knelt beside my bed and they led me to the Lord. I believe I was truly saved at that point, and later at six or seven I was baptized. At thirteen, I rededicated my life to the Lord. In the Spring of 2003, my father left us because of sin in his life. Through the pain I suffered from that incident the relation-ship with my Saviour grew closer than it had ever been. I prayed when I was sixteen for a man that would love the Lord more than he would love me and the Lord provided Mark. As I came to know Mark, I told the Lord that I would go wherever He sent him. This January Dale Scott came and presented his ministry, and my heart was moved toward the children of Malawi. I knew I would love to go and to be able to help in any way I could. I am looking forward to going to Malawi to be able to serve the Lord. It is such a privilege. I am so honored that the Lord is willing to use me. My name is Mark Beha. I asked Jesus to come into my life, save me and teach me a new way to live from a federal prison cell in March of 1995. After a series of struggles trying to live the Christian life my own way, I committed to living my life according to the Word of God in February of 2002. I started writing to inmates about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and how the power of God gave me victory over temptation. Thus, 2nd Chance Christian Newsletter was born. It started with my testimony in a four page newsletter and grew to a sixty-three page booklet. That was rapidly followed with the “Assurance of Salvation” booklet. Soon after that we started mailing Bibles and Bible lessons to inmates throughout the United States in both English and Spanish. From May 2004 to April 2005, we have mailed out 814 lessons with almost fifty percent completed and returned. From January 2004 to April 2005, 1,073 Bibles and Bible-related books (including Bible dictionaries, concordances, and other assorted Bible study material) have been shipped throughout the United States and Canada and as far as Africa. Currently we have a web site which has Bible lessons, testimonies, church messages, and numerous other information which is available throughout the world. I have received e-mail messages and letters concerning everything from how to get saved to how to reach an inmate with a drug problem. During the first ten months the web site had over 175,000 hits. Many times parents and pastors of loved ones in jails and prisons have more questions about how the Lord has worked in my life than the in-mates themselves. 2nd Chance Christian Newsletter has been taken over by a member of our church but I will continue to write material of my own including Bible lessons. I will be finishing up my fifth year of Bible Institute from Gulf Coast Bible Institute and Seminary at the end of September 2007. I prayed to the Lord to give me a wife that would support a man that had given his life to God. I wanted to live for the Lord and didn’t want a woman that would be a hindrance to my serving Him full-time. He answered that prayer with Lynnette. We have both had our share of struggles in our lives, and we believe this has blessed us with the compassion necessary to serve Him on the mission field of Malawi, Africa. Just as Lynnette was moved by Dale Scott's presentation of the field of Malawi, God touched my heart also. Lynnette and I got married October 15th, 2005. We now have a beautiful son Samuel and a second boy on the way which we plan on naming Joshua. Our sending church is Emmanuel Baptist Bible Church in Martville, New York. Emmanuel Baptist Bible Church will continue to handle the stateside affairs of 2nd Chance Christian Newsletter including inmate correspondence. Your prayers and support to help continue God’s leading in our lives are greatly needed. We consider it a blessing from the Lord ...to preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things (Romans 10:14-15).
