August 2006
Greetings in the name of the Lord, Thank you for all the prayers concerning Samuel Jesse Beha. He weighed 8 lbs and 8 ozs last Thursday and is doing well. He started his first shots outside the hospital yesterday and didn’t appear to have a bad reaction. Lord willing, Lynnette will start her shots this Friday. We plan to apply for their passports next month and ask for continual prayer. It was a blessing to here from one of the men over in Malawi. He told me that one of the men we preached to in prison was released and showed up at the Bible College seeking to be part of the program. Praise the Lord for giving the increase. During our presentation of the field some of you have expressed an interest in adopting orphans from Malawi. I told you that when I found out more information I would pass it along. When I was over there, I was told that it is very hard to adopt children because of problems in the past of people adopting children and taking them back to their country and putting them to work in sweat shops. We were told at first that it was going to be difficult for someone that had not lived there for at least one and a half years to adopt a child. I am happy to report that I met a woman while I was in Malawi that found a way to cut through a lot of the red tape. She works with the State of California Child Welfare Services, and she has been able to find a lawyer that will adopt up to five children over the next six months at $2,000.00 each. It would require at least one of the parents to go to Malawi and wait for the U.S. Consulate to process the paper work before you could bring the child back to the United States. That should take at least two weeks. The child would have to be adopted through Victory World Outreach. For more information please contact Chrissie Burness, 619-204-5906 (cell) or chrissieburness@yahoo.com We would also like to ask for prayer for the purchase of 424 acres of land that Brother Gentry has put a purchase offer in on as a potential site for a 500 bed orphanage along with a building for the radio station. He should know whether his offer has been accepted soon. A group of men from the U.S. have offered to build the building for him. This would still require the support and personnel to run the facility. Please pray that God will send the laborers. In the next prayer letter, I hope to be able to give a report on where we stand on going to the field. We would also ask prayer for additional meetings and supporting churches. As it looks right now, we are close. Please continue to pray for our vehicle fund. Praise God, it is off to a good start. We are looking to take a four wheel drive vehicle over with us in our shipping container. We would also like you to continue to pray for us purchasing a shipping container. Our goal is to get one before it snows this winter.
Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. (Hebrews 4:16)
